Transparent PET self-adhesive labels are a type of transparent self-adhesive label material based on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film. The base material itself has the characteristics of being colorless and transparent, with strong weather resistance. The backside is coated with pressure-sensitive adhesive, allowing them to be adhered to various surfaces and having both identification function and invisible decorative effect. Due to its "transparent" feature, after being adhered, it can blend seamlessly with the surface of the object being attached, and are often used in scenarios where the texture of the object being attached needs to be highlighted or where an "unlabeled" visual effect is desired.
Core characteristics of transparent PET self-adhesive labels:
1. High transparency and optical properties
The base material has extremely high transparency (with a transmittance of over 90%), and after being adhered, it hardly遮挡 the color, texture or pattern of the object being attached, achieving a "invisible label" effect (for example, when attached to glass or transparent plastic bottles, only the printed content can be seen, and the label itself is nearly invisible).
The surface is smooth and flat, without impurities or haze, and after printing, the text and patterns are clear and sharp, especially suitable for fine graphics (such as QR codes, small fonts).
2. Physical strength and durability
Tear resistance and puncture resistance: The PET film itself is highly resilient, resistant to stretching and puncturing, and is less likely to be damaged due to friction or collision, far superior to paper self-adhesive labels.
Temperature resistance: It can maintain stable performance within the range of -40℃ to 120℃, does not deform or shrink under high temperatures, and does not become brittle under low temperatures, suitable for refrigeration (such as beverage bottles) or short-term high-temperature (such as the surface of small appliances).
Chemical resistance: Resistant to water, oil, acids and alkalis, the label is not likely to fall off, bubble or stain the printed content (requires compatible chemical ink).
3. Adhesion performance
The pressure-sensitive adhesive on the back is durable and can firmly adhere to glass, plastic (PE, PP, PVC), metal, ceramic and other smooth surfaces, with an initial adhesion level that is moderate and convenient for adjusting the position during labeling (some products are "permanent glue", and it is difficult to peel off after being adhered).
The adhesive layer has strong compatibility, and different adhesion levels can be selected according to the scenario (such as low adhesion suitable for temporary identification, high adhesion suitable for long-term fixation).
4. Printing and processing adaptability
The surface can be enhanced with electrostatic treatment to improve the adhesion of ink, compatible with screen printing, digital printing (UV, inkjet), hot stamping, die-cutting, etc., and supports color printing, laser anti-counterfeiting, local varnishing, etc. personalized processing.
It can be customized as rolls (suitable for automatic labeling machines) or sheets (hand labeling), or cut into special shapes such as circles and irregular shapes.
5. Environmental and safety characteristics
Some products comply with food contact standards (such as FDA certification), and can be used for packaging labels in direct contact with human bodies or ingredients.
The aging resistance is good, and it is not likely to yellow over a long period of use (ordinary PET may slightly yellow, while high-end "anti-yellowing PET" can delay this problem), suitable for scenarios where the appearance needs to be maintained for a long time.
