PET self-adhesive labels are a type of self-adhesive label material made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film as the base material. The base material is a high-molecular synthetic film, and the backside is coated with pressure-sensitive adhesive. They can be fixed to various surfaces by sticking and are used for identification, information transmission, or decoration. The PET film itself has excellent physical properties, distinguishing it from paper self-adhesive labels and making it the mainstream choice for high durability scenarios.
Core characteristics of PET self-adhesive labels
1. Excellent physical properties of the base material
High strength and toughness: Strong resistance to stretching and tearing, not prone to damage due to friction or collision, with a much longer service life than paper self-adhesive labels.
Wide temperature resistance: Can maintain stability within the temperature range of -40℃ to 150℃ (some models can reach above 200℃), suitable for refrigeration, baking, and industrial high-temperature environments.
Outstanding chemical resistance: Resistant to water, oil, acids, alkalis, and most organic solvents, and less likely to deform or fall off when in contact with liquids or chemicals, and the printed content is less likely to smudge.
2. Diverse surface characteristics
Transparent options available: Including transparent, semi-transparent, frosted, and milky white (opaque) types. Transparent models can achieve a "hidden label" effect, while milky white models are suitable for scenarios where the background color of the object to be attached needs to be concealed.
Flexible surface treatment: Can undergo corona treatment or coating, enhancing the adhesion of ink, suitable for various printing processes (such as screen printing, digital printing, hot stamping, UV printing, etc.), with clear, bright, and long-lasting printed patterns.
3. Stable adhesion performance
Rich types of pressure-sensitive adhesives: Can be combined with general adhesives (suitable for most smooth surfaces), strong adhesives (used for rough or low surface energy materials such as PE, PP), removable adhesives (easy to remove without leaving residue), and high-temperature resistant adhesives (suitable for high-temperature environments).
Strong adhesion: Merges tightly on glass, metal, plastic, and ceramic surfaces, not prone to natural detachment, but can achieve "removable" function through special adhesive design (customized required).
4. Strong weather resistance and durability
Resistant to ultraviolet aging: Not prone to fading or brittleness due to sunlight exposure (better than paper and PVC materials), suitable for long-term outdoor identification (such as equipment nameplates, outdoor advertisements).
Resistant to moisture and mold: Does not absorb water, maintains shape stability in humid environments (such as kitchens, bathrooms), without the "moisture-induced wrinkling" problem of paper.
5. Environmentally friendly and safe
It is non-toxic and odorless, meeting food contact standards (such as FDA certification), and can be used in scenarios where it directly contacts the human body (such as equipment nameplates, outdoor advertisements).
Some models are made of environmentally friendly materials, recyclable or degradable (please confirm specific product parameters).
6. High customization degree
Can be customized for thickness (commonly 25μm to 100μm), color (transparent, white, color), shape (round, square, irregular), and surface effect (mirror finish, matte, frosted, laser printing).
Supports printing of variable information such as QR codes, barcodes, serial numbers, meeting traceability and anti-counterfeiting requirements.
