The establishment of a closed-loop recycling system makes it possible for resources to cycle. The collaboration between UPM and Cycle4green is a perfect example: by establishing a dedicated release paper recycling network, the silicon content of used release paper is removed, enabling it to be reused in the production of new release base paper, achieving a "label-to-label" recycling. At the consumption end, the "washable labels" implemented by beer enterprises have achieved remarkable results: using labels with special weak adhesives and soluble face materials, after being cleaned by the brewery's washing line, they can be completely removed. The recycling rate of glass bottles has increased to over 95%, and the processing cost per ton has decreased by 180 yuan.
The reduction of carbon emissions at the production end is also not to be ignored. The popularization of digital printing technology has enabled label production to achieve "on-demand printing", reducing the waste of ink for small batch orders by 40%; water-based inks have replaced traditional solvent-based inks, reducing VOCs emissions at the source. After the transformation of a printing factory, the exhaust gas emissions in the workshop decreased by 60%, and it was awarded the "Green Factory" title.
III. Consumer-side practice: How ordinary people choose and handle environmental labels

When buying a household label machine, prioritize models that support recycled paper labels and water-based inks, reducing pollution at the source.
The practical tips during the process can enhance the subsequent recycling value. When attaching labels to plastic bottles, try to do it on the body of the bottle rather than the cap, to avoid the need for additional separation due to different materials during recycling; when making homemade food labels, choose removable glue styles, which can be reused when changing containers, thus extending the lifespan of the labels; when attaching labels to old items for second-hand transactions, use easily removable paper labels, making it convenient for the next user to handle.
Correct disposal is the final link in the environmental protection closed loop. Composite labels with plastic films (such as delivery labels) should be classified as "other waste", while pure paper labels can be directly placed in "recyclable waste". Labels attached to glass and metal containers should be torn off as much as possible before classification. If there is any residue of ink printing, it can be softened by a hair dryer and then wiped clean. Biodegradable labels that are generated together with kitchen waste can be directly placed in the kitchen waste bin and enter the composting treatment system. For large quantities of used labels, contact local recycled resource recovery enterprises. Some enterprises have already opened special recycling channels for self-adhesive labels.
